2026 Annual Meeting

Save the date!  The 2027 annual meeting is tentatively scheduled for May 20th at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.

The 104th Annual Meeting of the Virginia Academy of Science (VAS) will be held May 28, 2026 at Christopher Newport University, Newport News, VA. A council meeting will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026.

VAS Vice President, Matthew Brynteson, of the University of Lynchburg (brynteson_m@lynchburg.edu) serves as the Program Chair for the 2026 Annual Meeting.

Thursday, May 28

• 8:00–10:00 AM – Registration and poster setup  (coffee)
• 8:30 AM–12:30 PM – Scientific Section Talks (with section meetings at the end)
• 12:30–2:00 PM – Negus Lecture (with lunch)
• 2:00–4:00 PM – Poster Session & Recruiting Tables • 2:00–3:00 PM -- Fellows Meeting
• 4:00–4:30 PM – Section Officers Meeting (awards deliberation)
• 5:00 PM – Awards Ceremony

Friday, May 29

9 am -noon VAS Council Breakfast and Meeting – (VAS council members only)
