2026 Annual Meeting

The 104th Annual Meeting of the Virginia Academy of Science (VAS) will be held May 28, 2026 at Christopher Newport University, Newport News, VA. A council meeting will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026.

VAS Vice President, Matthew Brynteson, of the University of Lynchburg (brynteson_m@lynchburg.edu) serves as the Program Chair for the 2026 Annual Meeting.

12:45-1:00 – VAS 2026 Photo

2:00-2:45 Negus Lecture/Installation of VAS Officers – 

3:00-4:00 Fellows meeting -  

3:00-4:00 More Oral Presentations by academic sections if needed- various rooms

3:00-5:00 Poster Sessions- Authors will be present to discuss posters and answer questions- 

5:00-6:00: Awards Ceremony (scholarships, VAS research awards, student awards) -
